I run Global Recipe Hub by myself. There’s no team or company behind it me. This page covers what information the site collects when you visit why and what say you have in it. I’m not going to bury this in jargon; I’d rather explain it plainly the way I would if you asked me in person. That said, it’s still the privacy policy for the site so treat it as such.

What This Site Is
Global Recipe Hub is a recipe blog covering dishes from around the world. Most people find the site through Pinterest, where I share pins linking back to recipes here. If you clicked through from a Pinterest pin that’s simply how you got here. Pinterest itself is a platform with its own privacy policy and I don’t currently run a Pinterest tracking tag on this site so Pinterest doesn’t receive data back from your visit here through me.
Information Collected Automatically
Visiting much any website automatically hands over some technical details about you: your IP address, browser, device, operating system and the pages you clicked through. That’s how cookies and similar tracking tech work; they’re small files or snippets of code that let a site remember bits about your visit.
I rely on Google Analytics to make sense of this. It tells me how many people are stopping by which recipes are actually getting read and how visitors move around the site. To do that Google Analytics sets its cookies. None of this identifies you as a person; its all lumped together as general data that helps me decide what to cook and write about next. If you want the specifics on how Google handles this info check their privacy policy.. If you’d rather not be tracked at all Google has a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics across every site using it not just this one.
Advertising
Now Global Recipe Hub doesn’t run any ads. That said, I’m planning to join an ad network most likely Google AdSense or Mediavine. To help support the cost of running the site. Once that happens this section will describe exactly what’s in place. Here’s what to expect:
Ad networks like these typically use cookies and similar technology from both the network itself and other advertising partners to show ads based on your interests and to measure how those ads perform. This can include information like your location (based on IP address) device and browser type and browsing behavior across different sites. Not just this one. If I join Mediavine specifically they work with a defined list of advertising partners and full details of who those partnersre what they collect is publicly available through Mediavines own disclosures, which I’ll link here once thats live.
Nobodys forced to accept these cookies. If you say no you’ll still see ads on the site; they just won’t be picked based on your interests anymore. You can. Wipe cookies through your browsers settings whenever you like. There are also opt-out tools if you want to cut down on interest-based ads everywhere not just here. The Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative both offer that.
Newsletter
There’s a newsletter sign-up option on the site. If you subscribe I’ll have your email address so I can send you recipes and occasional updates. I’m currently fixing an issue with how the sign-up form works but regardless of whether its fully functional at any given moment any email address collected through it is used only to send you the newsletter. Nothing else. And every email will include a way to unsubscribe. I don’t. Rent subscriber email addresses to anyone.
Comments
Got a comment section and decide to leave one? Your name and email get saved. The name shows up publicly next to what you wrote; the email stays hidden from visitors. I mainly keep this info around to keep spam in check and occasionally to follow up with you if needed.
Information You Give Me Directly
Beyond the newsletter and comments if you ever email me directly or fill out any contact form on the site, whatever you send me. Your name, email and message. Is used to respond to you. I don’t add that to any marketing list unless you’ve separately subscribed to the newsletter.
How Your Information Is Used Overall
To sum up the reasons any of this data gets used:
– Keeping the site running smoothly and securely
– Understanding which recipes and content people actually want to see
– Sending newsletter updates to people who’ve subscribed
– Responding to comments, questions or emails
– Showing ads, once an ad network is in place
– Protecting the site against spam, abuse or unauthorized activity
Who I Share Data With
I don’t sell your personal information. The only parties that see any data are the service providers that help run the site. Currently Google Analytics and in the future an ad network such as AdSense or Mediavine (plus their listed advertising partners). Each of these has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data since they’re companies, not something I control directly.
I would only share information beyond this in a situation required by law. If the site itself were ever sold or transferred to someone else. In which case visitor data would likely transfer as part of that.
Childrens Privacy
Global Recipe Hub isn’t directed at children. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Your Choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies entirely existing ones or get a notification before a new one is set. Keep in mind that blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Since most visitors here are in the US it’s worth noting that depending on your state you may have rights over your personal information, such as the right to know whats collected or to request it be deleted. If you’d like to exercise any of those rights just email me. I’ll do my best to help.
Changes to This Policy
As the site grows. Once a newsletter service and ad network are fully in place. This policy will be updated to reflect that accurately. I’ll update the ” updated” date at the top whenever that happens so you can always tell if somethings changed.
